Submission Guidelines

We welcome proposals and manuscripts for international publication. Please review the following guidelines before submitting your work.

Layered sheets of paper with fine deckled edges

What we are looking for

Three areas of publication.

01

Professional & Academic

Academic books, research-led nonfiction, professional works, business, technology, education, social sciences and related fields.

02

General Nonfiction

Ideas, society, culture, biography, history, business, technology and practical knowledge.

03

Selected Fiction

Selected literary and cross-cultural fiction.

Before you submit

Four things we assess first.

Relevance to Our Scope

The work should sit within one of our three areas of publication and be intended for an international readership.

Originality

We look for a distinct contribution, argument or perspective rather than a restatement of existing material.

Language

We primarily accept manuscripts in English. Works in other languages may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Project Readiness

A complete proposal, or a manuscript at a stage where editorial work can realistically begin.

How to submit

What to send.

Please include the following material with your submission. Incomplete submissions may take longer to assess.

  • Synopsis  An overview of approximately 300 to 500 words.
  • Author Bio  Around 100 to 200 words, including relevant background and previous publications.
  • Manuscript Details  Title, word count, category, status, and previous publication information.
  • Sample Chapters  Usually one to three chapters, or approximately 30 to 50 pages.
  • Submit via Form  Use the contact form and select the relevant project category.

Review process

How a submission is considered.

01

Initial Review

We check scope, completeness and readiness before the manuscript is read in full.

02

Editorial Consideration

The work is assessed for originality, editorial quality and fit with the list.

03

Response

We reply with a decision and, where relevant, notes on how the work could be developed.

04

Next Steps

Accepted projects move to agreement, editorial scheduling and production planning.

We aim to respond to suitable submissions within approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

FAQ

Questions before submitting.

What types of works do you accept?

We publish within three areas: professional and academic work, general nonfiction, and selected literary or cross-cultural fiction. We do not publish every category, and acceptance depends on the individual submission.

Do you accept previously published works?

In some cases. Please include details of any previous publication, including the publisher, date, territory and current rights status, so that the position can be reviewed.

Can I submit a proposal instead of a full manuscript?

Yes. For nonfiction, a proposal with a synopsis, chapter outline, author biography and sample chapters is sufficient for initial assessment.

Do you accept works in languages other than English?

We primarily accept manuscripts in English. Works in other languages may be considered on a case-by-case basis, and translation requirements will be discussed before any agreement.

What happens if my manuscript is not accepted?

You will receive a response with the outcome. Where possible we explain the reasoning, and you are free to submit the work elsewhere.

Is there a submission fee?

No. There is no charge to submit a proposal or manuscript for consideration.
